A Vital Week in Gladstone

What could be better than a few days in the Gladstone Region? A whole week! Yes a very happy and stimulating week in the region, travelling from top to toe consulting with the cultural champions and broader community as preparation for the new Arts and Cultural Policy and Plan. The local enthusiasm for arts and culture as an important part of a healthy and happy community life is ubiquitous. I finished the week feeling even more excited by the opportunity to help make a plan that will contribute significantly to the vibrancy and vitality of the region. More work to come but a happy task.

New Confidence for Moreton Bay Artists

Another great day with the creative class in the Moreton Bay region last Saturday week. This day the topic was: How To: (confidently) Talk and Write about Your Art Practice. This can be quite a challenge for many creative people but is really important when it comes to taking advantage of all the opportunities that are available to artists. Talking and writing (confidently) about your work is a learnt skill however – and with a few skills and a little practice, can be quite easy  to master. Thanks to all the enthusiastic participants, the ubiquitous Moreton Bay Arts Council and Flying Arts Alliance.
